High Pressure Fuel Pump

Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas, Inc.'s high pressure fuel pumps are designed to enhance fuel volume delivery for exceptional operation and faster vehicle response, providing a good alternative to the standard fuel pump for supercharged and turbocharged applications. The key elements of the system are a highpressure (15 MPa) fuel pump, the injectors that inject the fuel into the cylinder, and the engine control unit which incorporates a custom IC (integrated circuit) that drives the other components. The injectors and high-pressure pump drive feature a drive current that is optimized to obtain the maximum available performance resulting in fuel injection that has a wide dynamic range and is also used on supercharged Direct Injection (DI) engines.
